Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all lessons offered by Granite City Music Tuition. By enrolling in lessons, the student (or parent/guardian) agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
Lesson Scheduling
Lessons are scheduled for a regular weekly or fortnightly slot unless the student is on the ad-hoc list. Requests to change the time or day of lessons must be made with at least 48 hours’ notice.
Payment & Fees
Based on half hourly lessons.
Scheduled Students (weekly or fortnightly): Lessons must be paid for in advance in blocks of 4, priced at £82.00 per block. As soon as one block finishes, the next block must be paid on the same day to continue securing the same slot.
Ad-Hoc Students: Payment must be made at the time of booking each individual lesson. An individual ad-hoc lesson is £22.00.
Cancellations
Students must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel a lesson. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full lesson rate unless I can fill the slot with another student. However, please understand that slots are hard to fill at short notice.
Online Lesson Alternative
If I am able to teach online at your scheduled lesson time, even when less than 48 hours' notice is given, we can use this as an alternative option. I have recently put this in place and use Google Classroom and Google Meet to be able to provide this. This can be a live online lesson, or I can submit drum material via the platform for students to be able to work on for the next scheduled lesson. This ensures you still receive value from your booked lesson.
Illness
Students must not attend lessons if they are unwell and must be completely symptom free for at least 48 hours before attending (at least 5 days for sickness or diarrhoea).
A message will be sent on the morning of the scheduled lesson as a reminder to confirm that there is no sign of any illness and been clear of any illness for at least 48 hours (at least 5 days for sickness/diarrhoea). This includes anything like a cough, runny nose, sore throat, cold, fever, sickness, diarrhoea and anything that could potentially be contagious.
What can be a mild illness to some, can mean hospitalisation to others and I have vulnerable family members to protect.
Thanks for your cooperation and understanding!
If the student is still well enough to be able to go online at home, we can easily use the online drum lesson option as an alternative.
Arrival & Lateness
Students should arrive exactly at their scheduled time, not earlier. If the gate is closed, please do not open it. It will be opened at the scheduled time (Charlie, our puppy, is often in the garden in between lessons!)
If the student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time. Please make sure parents/guardians return in plenty of time to collect students at their scheduled time (even if just waiting in the car for them).
Materials
Worksheets and practise material may be provided for use between lessons. Students must bring the necessary materials to each lesson. Please ensure all materials are kept safe, protected and organised.
Termination of Lessons
If a student wishes to end lessons, 4 weeks’ notice is required. Fees for lessons during the notice period remain payable.
Holidays & Missing Lessons
Please provide advance notice of any planned holidays or known absences. Students who will miss 3 or more scheduled lessons in a row must pay a retainer fee in advance to secure their slot. The retainer fee is £15 per scheduled lesson that will be missed.
